How it all began
Quotes on Cards quite simply began with me not being able to find what I wanted. I wanted some personalised gifts for friends. Not finding what I wanted I decided to try and make it myself.
I've always been a 'maker'. I studied art at Manchester Metropolitan University and yet my life took a different direction, I have now come full circle back to creating art.
Two calligraphy courses later here I am creating my own art, following my dreams.
I use old dictionaries that are no longer used and are going to waste to upcycle and stop them going eventually to landfill. All the dictionary items are made by myself in house. All other card/printing I use is FSC and the external printer I use is in Leeds who specialise in small business short run prints. They use paper from a mill which has the highest environmental standards. The packaging for the cards is plant based and compostable and is from a firm in Lancashire. The majority of my frames are made in Holmfirth.
I try to use local suppliers in the UK where possible and remain as eco friendly as possible and try to re-use and recycle rather than letting old unused items go to waste. My shipping packaging is also recycled and recyclable.
